As the sun slowly dips down below the horizon and creation soaks up those final drops of sunlight, nature begins to experience a shift in rhythms as it prepares for sleep.
Whether you’ve been in the garden, at work, or lounging around the house, your skin bears the remnants of the day with your face being one of the more exposed surfaces. This is where oil cleansing comes in to bring gentle relief and restore skin.
Sunsets in the Wild is what we reach for when we need a little bit deeper of a cleanse. This could simply be because the daytime activities were harder (and dirtier) on our skin. Both of our cleansing oils are gentle enough and effective for acne-prone or oily skin. However, this one is specifically designed to target + treat acne and excessive oil a little bit deeper.
There’s two ingredients we added to make this formula suited for a deeper cleanse while remaining gentle: castor oil and copaiba balsam. Castor oil is a thicker oil and also an astringent, so it helps to collect and trap impurities that may be slightly more stubborn. Copaiba balsam is a gentle powerhouse that is calming and soothing while also very effective in fighting acne-causing bacteria without irritating skin.

Ingredients: Jojoba oil* infused with whole calendula* flowers, castor oil*, sea buckthorn oil*, copaiba balsam oil*.
*Organic
Ingredient benefits:
→ Jojoba oil is lightweight, non-comedogenic, and technically a liquid wax ester that closely mimics human sebum, making it possible to dissolve sebum buildup with blocking pores. It is also rich in vitamins and minerals and suitable for all skin types.
→ Calendula infused jojoba oil is soothing, anti-inflammatory, healing for delicate or damaged skin, and possesses antimicrobial properties.
→ Castor oil is an effective astringent that helps clear congested pores while hydrating skin. It also possesses anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, largely due to its high concentration of ricinoleic acid, and aids in treating acne and promoting wound healing.
→ Sea buckthorn oil helps balance oil production and repair moisture barrier, is soothing, rich in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as fatty acids, while also offering skin regenerating and hydrating effects.
→ Copaiba balsam oil is a soothing, potent, non-irritating anti-inflammatory that helps reduce acne, soothe chronic skin conditions, promote skin-healing, remove impurities, balance sebum production, and acts as an emollient to lock in moisture.
Comes in a 2 oz. amber glass bottle with treatment pump.
How are they formulated?
How are they formulated?
Our cleansing oils are carefully formulated in small-batches using organic, non-comedogenic botanical oils, making them suitable for all skin types. These oils are a gentle, oil-based alternative to traditional cleansers designed to remove excess sebum, dirt and debris, makeup, and sunscreen (including waterproof). The best part is not only are they effective, they do all of this without stripping the skin’s natural barrier.
How do they work?
How do they work?
The oil cleansing method (OCM) is based on the principle that “like dissolves like”, meaning oil attracts oil, making it possible for these oils to effectively break down, lift, and wash away oil-based impurities.
Recommended use:
Recommended use:
Shake gently. Apply 1-2 pumps onto clean fingers or directly onto dry skin (face and neck area). Gently massage the oils into your skin using circular motions for 1-2 minutes. Wet a clean washcloth with warm (can be “super-warm” but not hot) water and place it over your entire face to create a gentle steam effect. Leave this cloth on your face for 30-60 seconds, or until the cloth begins to cool. You can repeat this step for another 30 seconds with warm water to further enjoy this mini spa treatment. Using the same warm, damp cloth, gently wipe away the oil. Work in sections, using light pressure. Rinse the cloth in warm water as needed and continue until most of the oil has been removed. (Keep in mind, oil cleansing leaves skin moisturized instead of dry like most other forms of cleansers). Gently pat skin dry with a clean, soft towel.

We recommend oil cleansing in the evening, as a part of your nighttime skincare routine.
Follow with a hydrosol, serum, and moisturizer (if necessary) such as tallow cream.
